Working on the POW! blanket

I’m still working my way through my many unfinished objects, I have binned some, reclaimed the yarn from some, used some for other purposes and actually finished a few.

The next project I have picked back up to complete is affectionately known as the POW! blanket, I started it a while ago and got through one colour repeat before my usual blanket boredom set in (I’ve come to realise that I need to do a little blanket then swap to another project).

The yarn I’m using is Womens Institute DK from Hobbycraft. It’s always on 3 for 2 so it’s a really good option for big blankets!

I mentioned that I had re purposed some of my UFOs, Lisa from The Wee House of Crochet had the great idea to contact @AprilsLawUK on twitter and ask if we could make some squares to decorate The Hugging Tree that gets yarn bombed in the memory of April Jones. Our whole crochet group got involved, we all pulled out squares we had stashed and even managed to make a few at the table on Saturday.
